A good place with an alfresco feel. A good promo of ordering 3 bottle of beer for an extra one. The staff was friendly and attentive, the feel of the place was cozy and had a dim-lit vibe. We were able to try their onion rings, which was a bit on the oily side but was large in servings. One good thing about this place is the affordability of it being in Greenfield. If you're looking for a quick drink or place to chill out and are on a budget, this place is for you.
Decent Cocktails!
I´ve been dragged and summoned to Coals quite a few times in the last couple of months. My homeboy from Cali lives in one of the condos around there, so when we are in need of a "girls night out" this is pretty much his first choice. lol
The earliest time that we visited this place was around 8pm on a Thursday.... by then the music was being turned up already, and people around us had to lean closer to each other to lead a conversation.
For me what makes this place is the staff! From their bartenders, waiters, and waitresses all the way to their bouncers! (Shout out to Paul! Thanks for making sure that our bags are safe!)
The overview:
Food: predominantly Filipino style pub food - a little unexciting at times.
I wasn´t a big fan of the Sissig... the Quesedillas, Nachos, etc. on the other hand, were alright.
Ambiance: chill & fun (no airconditioning)
Music: Loud + laser lights
So if you would like to have a conversation without screaming at each other (or texting), consider sitting outside.
Staff: AMAZING! From taking your order... to taking cocktail requests... to lending you their lighter... to making sure your valuables are safe... they´ve got you covered! Not to mention their all-encompassing sense of discretion and sense of humour...
To be fair... this is not a place where you come to eat per se. This is a drinking spot, where you sit next to colorful characters and witness their classic dance moves or drinking games!
All in all.. if you come here with the right friends, who know how to loosen up, you are in for a pretty good time!!!
I like eating and drinking at Coal since it's very accessible to my workplace. Honestly, food is great and price is somehow cheap compared to other restaurants around. If I can suggest something, I think it would be to get more staff since not all of their waiters can attend to guests immediately (which is understandable because there's always a lot of people who drink here). I wish to see flexibility in the meñu as well in terms of alcoholic drinks since you can only choose from a certain type of drink if you want it to come with pulutan. Overall, Coal is always going to be one of the choices if you wanna have a few drinks and good food (at least for me). Hooray for stir-fried veggies!!!
